THE INFLUENCE OF EXPERIENCE IN CONTACTS AND KNOWLEDGE ABOUT MANNERS IN COMMUNICATION ON ATTITUDES TOWARDS PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES

The aim of the research was to determine the influence of previous experience of children of elementary school and their parents in the contacts and knowledge about manners on attitudes towards people with disabilities. A research was carried on school teachers (N = 32), on students of the fifth, eighth and ninth grade (N = 113) and their parents (N = 102). For the purpose of research was used questionnaire to assess attitudes towards people with disabilities, as well as the questionnaire on the assessment of the knowledge of good manners in communication with persons with disabilities. For check aim of this research Spearman's rank correlation and regression analysis was used. The results show that people who have more experience in contacts and better knowledge about good manners in everyday communication with people with disabilities, have a more positive attitude towards these people
